Single Mom

my husband's out of town starting today, so I'm kind of single. I used to have a lot of nights alone before we moved from the city, he traveled to Springfield a lot. Since I'm kind of out of practice, I spent a lot of time futzing around on the Internet, cleaning up my email and checking out facebook, things i don't have time or access to at work. Hopefully, I'll get to chat with my girlfriend tomorrow night and clean out the one drawer from when we spilled coffee almost a month ago. At least I didn't watch any TV tonight. Taking care of the baby wasn't that hard. We were out the door pretty early this morning, since I didn't wash my hair! Work was crazy and I had to leave to pick up the baby. Some nights we get my husband at the train, but not tonight. We just went home. The new patio furniture was waiting by the garage and the first of Joshua's birthday presents arrived. Aunt Eileen bought one of Josh's first baby shower gifts and certainly delivered his first birthday gift - man is she on top of things. We played for a little while. Last night he loved pushing me like a steam roller and tonight he kept putting this ball in my mouth. I turned the tables on him and stuck the ball in his shirt or in his pocket. He wasn't quite sure what to do with that! We had dinner, which I was able to clean up mostly before taking him out of the high chair, despite Jared's opinion that it's too hard to do. I did pick up the toys once he was in bed though. Bath time was tough, he wasn't going for it. i don't know if the water was too cold, he was already too tired, or wasn't used to Dad not giving him the bath. he did sit very still for stories. And as last night cried when we put him down, though for only like 20 seconds. Lots of stuff to do preparing the house for his birthday party, in June, including getting the outside ready. More later.
