Donate Food to a Food Pantry

there was a call to do this just before Valentine's Day at Josh's school and we brought a lot of things!  mostly the doubles from our pantry and a few new things too.  A whole HEAVY canvas shopping bag full.

Photo A Day Project

In preparing for my 101 in 1001 goal at the end of 2010, I was inspired by the bloggers who took a photo of themselves each day; one here, another of her outfits.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do until just before Caitlyn was born.  I realized I had the perfect subject, as babies change so much in the first years.  Plus I've said a lot too, it's so much more fun dressing girls that it is boys, so why not celebrate that.  Now that she has started moving into the outfits stage, rather than the onesies and receiving blankets, is the perfect time.  Commence Project 365: Caitlyn's 1st year of outfits.

Diapers

I don't know if I can cross this off my list as completed, because I won't be completing it, but I am still crossing it off. I really did look into cloth diapers quiet a bit... I looked online, discussed with moms in my moms group, even joined a new meetup for a couple of weeks to learn more about it.  In the end, I decided it wasn't mean to be.  The need to do so much laundry so frequently was really what made my decision.  The upfront cost wasn't in the pros column either.  I mean, I would not like to have to put out so much money to try something out only to find it wasn't for us.  I could have bought used diapers or sold them afterwards, but that didn't really make it worth it either.

I read both of these on my vacation in June 2011

6. Digging to America
I read this for my mom's group book club.  The story of two girls adopted from Korea and their and their families lives.  The book didn't really have a climax or any drama leading up to it, unless you can count the relationship between the grandfather and other grandmother.  It was kind of a let down.
7. Wench in January 2012 for my book club
8. MWF seeking BFF I found this one while looking at Barnes and Noble one night before the baby was born.  I read this quickly and even sent a note to the author!  It made me realize that if I am really going to make more friends, I have to be the one to make the effort to talk to people.

the interesting thing is that I thought this might take a while, but because I kept track it was much easier than I though to accomplish this.  I am a voracious reader and if I enjoy something, I can't put it down until I am finished.

And if I keep at this rate, perhaps I will be able to compete with Miss Amy!

9. I finished the Gift of Rest a little while ago and took quite a number of ideas away from it...some of which will end up on my next list of 101 things.  I ended up returning the Lady of the Rivers, but have picked up a couple more from the library from various references.

10. I just finished The Shadow of the Wind for my book club...wow I think this was a great book, loved the mystery and how it really was like a set of those little Russian dolls, one secret within another.
